Being alone is not the same as being lonely. There is nothing wrong with being on your own if you are comfortable with it. That means the simplest way to ease feelings of loneliness can be to try to meet more, or different, people. We're not saying it's an easy thing to do. If you've felt lonely for a long time, or even if you're surrounded by people, it can be terrifying to think of trying to meet new people, or opening up to people for the first time.
But you don't need to rush into anything. Everything has its time.

I do not understand the concept of loneliness because I have never experienced it. I don't need anyone but myself. I am rather misanthropic.

I don't really believe in coping with problems, I believe in solving them. The only way to solve this problem is to find people who are similar to yourself.

I don't know if I even feel lonely, but maybe it's just because I've been lonely for so long that I don't know what not being lonely feels like.
