It was great meeting you all :-) especially the the people who traveled from outside the city.

If anyone would like to do something similar again, count me in.

Well it was great day all in all, 10 people. Not bad. Thanks for coming!

Want to say it doesn't have to be organising it next time, any of you can do it next (hint hint :P ).

I will be asking alex whether he can allow me to moderate the meets thread so I can put up the upcoming meets then people can link to their respective discussion. Also list things under general, special interest, ect.

I’ll also put is some tips on organising meets and some general safety advice.

Don't forget that this is not just my thread anyone can organise any meet. It can be general or special interest. I tend to mix it up between the two. Having many people or just a few.

I wish I could have attended this meetup. Maybe if I had a bit more notice, I could've booked a day off work.

Maybe Alex should create a meetups forum, for meetups around the world.

William D. Drake @ Bull and Gate in Kentish Town London [Thurs 30th August 20:00]

Sorry for the short notice of two days. Looking for 1-3 people max to go to a gig with me and some NT friends. They also have social anxiety and are nice people.

It is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. The venue itself is quaint, smaller even than the pub itself. It is not usually that full or rowdy. If we get there early there are built-in benches and tables that run along the sides. That means you won't be stuck between sweaty people and you can actually stand up on the benches get a good view of the performance. It is fairly easy to go in and out of the venue. There is a little bar outside too.

Very easy to get to near the tube.

I found when it is dark and you can just listen to the music, you can ignore everyone else. I wouldn't expect there to be much strobing if any for this type of music, or fancy lighting.

It cost around £6 on line or you can wing it and go for £5 on the door.

William D. Drake (Ex-Cardiacs) is exerpimental/psychedelic/prog/post rock. Have a listen:

Or do we want to meet elsewhere?

Looks like you've nominated yourself to organise it :D Go ahead. I'd be up for it in principle. Probably not this w/e or 30th/31st.

Well I thought I might.
I should not always be the same person every time, Sunday 23rd is favourite with me but I think we want more than just two of us, although it would make the organising easy :)

I won't be coming to any meet ups in the next few weeks - having a financial crisis :P But any time from November onwards I'll be up for it! Should have a job by then
