Do any of you do this?

Apparently I sound "disturbed" when I randomly start talking about diseases. :?

Diseases are just interesting, and I happen to know a lot about them, but evidently people don't want to hear about how mad-cow disease eats away at your brain until you die.

I use a lot of medical jargon instead of layman's terms because I know it from being a transcriptionist. I also talk about things at the table, in restaurants, and in "polite company" that I find fascinating or sad about medicine but others apparently just find gross.

I also have an obsession with (not to be confused with addiction to!) all things related to sex and often make inappropriate comments and embarrass other people or myself.

LOL, all the time. Thank heavens the medical community doesn't find it disturbing.

I do that too. I got lucky though and the people I know talk about "disturbing things" too.

Wait until you start talking about firearms when there's a die-hard liberal around. The results are amusing. Although in that case I enjoy making them uncomfortable, particularly because all they've got are straw-man arguments that basic logic will defeat.

I have a few pretty morbid fascinations. I learned the hard way not to talk about them with most people.

I do have one great friend though who doesn't get "disturbed" by anything. we talk a lot about stuff like diseases, dying, how to commit a perfect crime, what to do with the bodies (we're both aspiring writers, so only theoretically), we sometimes get carried away and forget there's other people listening lol.
