I understand that this is something that does not come naturally to people on the autistic spectrum.

Given what you have observed, and people you have known, do you think it's possible for a person (like, say, me, for instance) to lack that magic ability to make social connections and yet not be on the spectrum?

Yes, but introverted just means that socializing drains your energy, and you need to be alone to recharge. A person who is merely an introvert would still be able to gather friends and acquaintences through life, right?

I thought autism is all about an impairment in social interaction? This is not regarding about personality am I right? Even an outgoing guy can be an Aspie or Autie like many of us.

What do you think?

Us Aspies can make friends. It's just harder for us to make them and even still harder to keep them.
