Aoi's quote here made me curious!

Do Aspies make friends more readily with other "neuro-atypicals"? Maybe we should have a poll on that subject.

So are your friends mainly neuro atypical?

specify as much as you want to.

My friends are mostly of the 'flexbrain' type wether or not they're diagnosed; so ADD, ADHD, ASS. My über-best friend is aspie I believe, but most aren't.

I don't socialize but I do have a handful of friends from childhood I rarely see and then again people I am friendly with I see on a regular basis at work. I kind of felt like I needed another option but picked friends mostly NT. As far as old childhood friends they are NT but have gotten to the point where they are homebodies too. We occasionally talk and tell each other we'll be better about keeping in touch but usually don't. I think it's age, mostly.

My best friend is AS. My friends from school are a mixture, most would come under neuro atypical.

There is a healthy mixture of both.

All my acquaintances are NT. Friends? Don't have any.

I'm actually pretty popular and not at all a loner, even though I'm introverted. One of my closest friends has Tourette's actually, and I've always hung out with a lot of ADD/ADHD kids.

I have a mix of NA and NT friends.
At school I used to hang around mostly with the NA kids, so aspies, other disorders or just introvert/nerdish NTs. But only a few of them I still see now. My out of school friends are all NT's though. I haven't made any new friends at college though I just see someone I knew at school sometimes.
And my best best best friend is an aspie and I love him to bits lol.

My friends are both, though my closest friend is online if that says anything. I think that I often feel more comfortable around those who are likely aspie (I don't go around asking people if they are aspie). Though if they're as socially anxious as I am then we're doomed because we won't get any words out.

No friends. The few I've had in the past have all been NTs with good enough conversation skills to compensate for my lack of.

If we count only real-life friends? Then I would assume that the people I hang out with are NTs (except I hear that one of the guys that sits with us at lunch has Asperger's, and since I've been researching it lately for obvious reasons it seems that is probably true). Online...well, I don't actually have friends on this site yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of my other online friends were NA.

But anyway, I took this to mean real-life people and voted impulsively for mostly/all NTs.
