The trailers caught me. (And I am a habitual Radio 4 person.)

It was not, I think, an AS character. A desperate but poorly-managed desire to belong is more broadly based than just that.

Someone has been observing the cruely and exploitation in social relationships, but it was at least as painful as it was funny, from my perspective.

Agreed, Emettman. Probably not AS. But painfully close to some Aspie experiences perhaps... and very funny.
