Yeh sure, i cant promise i'll be able to help in any way (and may make things worse) but i'll try my best in any way i can, and i'm sure the vast majority of people on this website whether they are NT, or have autism will try and do the same.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem you have is,so any solution is difficult for me to identify. However if you are going to tell somebody else about it "in real life"(ie not on a website but face to face), i would tell someone who you can trust whether its a good friend, parent, sibling, mentor, psychologist etc.

However even though i might be appearing to contradict myself here, but i personally prefer to solve problems i face by myself, but that could just be because i've rarely have had a really big enough problem where i felt i've needed to involve anybody else

i too didn't know if i should tell my friends. i did and they haven't let me down. they don't make a big deal out of it, which is nice. i think it comes down to how much you trust them. if you want to talk, you can pm me.

I have a couple ideas why you should, and should not...and some other comments...

Cons:
1) Friends often misunderstand what having AS truly is.
2) Friends will sometimes end up using AS as a label for you instead of seeing you as a person.
3) Friends might annoy you by being overly sympathetic and/or being condescending either accidentally or on purpose in attempts to accomidate what they now "know" about you.

Pros:
1) Friends might be more understanding in future situations.
2) Friends might be able to support you more.

I think before you do anything, you should consider why you want to tell them. Are you using it as a cop out? Do you want them to understand? Do you want more attention from them? Do you need them to be more considerate?
