My whole life, I've had the curse of misinterpreting girls/women. When I was a young boy/teenager, I was certain every girl had a secret crush on me simply because she said hi to me. Even today, as an adult, I have a hard time convincing myself that..."she's just being friendly, nothing more". Is this common? Or just me?

im the opposite, instead of viewing as if they had crushes, it was just veiwing them as being friendly. Of course id view it that way, since Im a jaded cynic.

I had, and still have to a degree, the same problem as a kid. Some girls would even take advantage of my gullibility and play with my feelings (not cool!). Just like you said, it's really easy for me to interpret general conversation as affection and I constantly have to tell myself that there is nothing serious going on.

I've had the best luck when I managed to not think about sex or attraction at all, just listen to what they're saying. It's like hiding a sneeze.

I thought of myself as un attractive so I've never been able to tell when girls like me unless they come right out and say it until recently with my last GF. But its all about what they ay and there enthusiasm for talking to me. Body language and expressions however are not very comprehensible for me except for that look they give you when they want you to kiss them.

I don't trust strangers no matter what gender.
