Well not sure to put this in this category or in "Love and Dating", but basically there's this girl who's been giving signals for a few months that she's interested in me in a romantic sense.. I think she caught me staring at her a few times - and misinterpreted as me checking her out while in reality I stare at a lot of random people all the time without meaning to send any signals... but since I learned a while back that it'd be rude to ignore her, I started talking to her and she seems like a nice person that I can picture myself hanging out with once in a while. How do I proceed to go from superficial acquaintance --> hang out buddy, without implying any romantic intent? (I'm pretty asexual, so am only interested in being friends w/ anyone)

Tell her what you just said? Tell her that you aren't looking for a romantic interest but you would like her friendship.

dont say anything, just invite her to hang out. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised & start liking her or you will just start a friendship. Do something NOT date-like. Invite her to hang out with your friends, or somewhere public thats not romantic... Just because she looks at you doesnt necessarily mean she wants to jump your bones ;)

i would tell her very directly that you are asexual and not interested in a romantic/sexual relationship with ANYONE and then tell her you'd like to be friends. that way, she won't feel like she has a chance to change your mind and there will be less likelihood of boundary crossing.
