I once had a co-worker who became a friend tell me that when I look at people, it looks like I want to kill them. This isn't true at all. I have no idea how I look at people. But when he said this to me, it made me feel so much better, as I realized that that's what might make many people perceive me as unapproachable and dislike me.

Has anyone else been told this, or do you think you have a 'killer look' too?

hello, MrDiamondMind, why don't you post a pic of yourself so i could see what you are talking about? as for me, i gather than for people [betas down to omegas] who are even more wimpy than i myself am, i might look a little scary up close. but for typical alpha males/females, i look like i have "kick me!" tattooed on my forehead. i hope that made sense.

I heard that in high school constantly. To me, I just look blank.

Did you ever hate them so much for disliking your 'killer look' that you felt like killing them?

but really...
I think that if one's face is usually emotionless, people will start assuming the worst: "He has no feelings-- he must be a serial killer!!"

Smile more often and people will assume the best. Simply smiling, even without a cause, has been shown to make people happier. Smile! :D

I don't think posting a picture would help. I'm not looking at anyone in a picture and am at home, where my appearance is very different. Also, I don't really want to upload a picture yet. :P

Yes, I look expressionless too, and I guess somehow people idiotically associate that with evil.

I didn't know I had a 'killer look' and thought they were disliking me for something else. But for having them dislike me, I guess I did feel like killing them. :D

I've gotten that from three people, IIRC.

I have it too, sometimes I don't realize I'm doing it. There's a pic of me posted somewhere in a thread, it makes me look like I'm evil incarnate.

Yeah, I've been told I have that look, which is annoying because I never say or think anything remotely hostile about people. Apparently my body language also tells people to go away and leave me alone, although that one's less of a surprise because it's usually what I'm hoping for inwardly.

I'm trying to work on this, though. Remembering to smile more often, trying to maintain a more upright, confident posture, and so on.

I once had an NT boyfriend who told me that I look "angry" all the time :(
So, I think this is probably what you're talking about lol.

This used to happen to me all the time. I would be standing by myself, just thinking neutral thoughts, kind of zoning out and minding my own business, and people would always come up to me and ask what was wrong or who I was mad at.
Apparently my normal face looks angry. When I concentrate, I notice that some of the muscles in my face are tensed naturally. When I focus really hard I can relax them and it softens my neutral facial expression a bit. But a lot of the time I'm too busy with other things to worry about relaxing my face, so the angry-ish look stays.

Yeah I use to hear that a lot back in midde/highschool. It got really annoying after hearing it so much, especially considering I didn't want to actually kill anyone. I guess I've just never been one for making facial expressions so people assumed I was the angry quiet guy.

Well, I definitely have killer looks. :afro:

I actually have been accused of having the "killer" look before. The best part about it was that after they mentioned that, I tried thinking about killing the person who asked me and then asked "how's this?" Then that person told me "that's better" because when I was thinking about killing that person my expression changed and I no longer looked like I wanted to kill her. Maybe it was because the thought of killing the other person made me smile which made me look less creepy. :D
