My suicidal freind and me...

Okay well it's a very awkward position to be in when your freind is saying life would be much easier without her. Admittedly she has made some mistakes long story short she lied to her freinds and family to get attention and well.... it backfired and now most of her freinds have abandoned her apart from me and another of my freinds. Yes i know she lied and yes i know it was wrong of her but at least i am a good enough freind too see past all that and see how she is truly sorry for what she has done. But her best freind isnt showing signs of forgiveness at all and she is really upset by this to the point of telling me that "life would be better without her" which i know is complete bull!

But having one of my freind threaten suicide? sure she lied to get attention but now i think it is real and i dont want to have to live with the fact that one of my freind topped herself from rejection from her other freinds. Im helping her through it as best i can but this is deep stuff and one wrong move and next thing she's gone so im stepping on egg shells. But luckily i have a way of talking to people ( my mums a counceller) and i think the skill has rubbed off on me But seeing my freind in this state is terrible.

I need advice on how to take this. or at leats reassurance cuz' well suicidal threats dont come everyday y'know.

I only found out that she is feeling suicidal about 3 hours ago so no and she says i shouldnt tell anyone but i know if i keep this to myself it will defiantly make things worse so yes i will tell someone.

ok, well you need to aproch this differently for everyone. say a little about her.

Mouldy, whilst it is important to take suicide threats seriously, please be careful that you don't get sucked into any mind games.

You say your friend has lost all her other friends because of her lying to get attention. To me, this would suggest that her current threats are more attempts to get attention. By all means, treat her seriously, but tell her that you will have to contact someone else about it; don't try to take this on alone, no matter how good your counselling skills are.

Can you talk to your mum about this? She may give you some advice.

The whole lying for more attention thing has of course crossed my mind and i understand how she could just be playing me off for more attention but im still nervous because what if this is real i mean she has been acting differently and has been very sad latey what with the loss of her best friend and a few others due to lying. But i still want to help her even if isnt a serious as she is making it out to be and yes i will talk to my mum about this because hiding this i useless and can only make things worse surely. Thanks
