Looking for friends in the city

Hello I'm Allison and I am currently in New York City for the summer taking classes at Pace University. I am going into my sophmore year at Pace and I am studying English. I was fortunate enough to make a big and nice group of friends while at college but now that it is summer and everyone has gone home, I feel very lonely. The people I know who are still around always seem busy so I spend most days roaming the city alone (and endlessly applying for jobs).

I live about 40 minutes from the city, unfortunately I'm busy with work and a summer class And I don't think my parents would be too happy with me traveling that far to meet up with someone from the internet. Can you get over to long island?

Yeah I can get out to long island I live in Downtown and I can get to Penn Station. Where are you in Long Island?
