Does anyone here use IMVU?
I have had it for over a year and use it sometimes.
It's ok for private convos but then they have group chatrooms I get invited to and I just clam up like in real life.
Just wondering if there are any aspies who have it, I have searched on there and found none.
If I found some I would start an Aspie room, could be interesting lol

Can you choose your own body type? If you can, I'm in. If the only choice is thin, than no.

I have before. I got myself all black clothes and seeing as I only had 1 friend on there I quit almost immediately after that realizing it was pointless to have a graphical chatroom where rooms take forever to load.

If character customization is your thing you'd be better off playing a game like Perfect World.

The customisation has come a long way in UMVU in the past year...it has some good developers. Took forever for me to load to with my old laptop, much quicker now with a faster computer.
You can't really chose when you sign up, there is just the basic shape and clothes but then it's up to you to buy stuff with the credits you get from signing up or buying them with real money. I have always had a policy that I wont pay for fake money with real money but when I've had a few extra dollars I have thrown some at IMVU. I guess there is nothing wrong with paying for something you enjoy.
Anyway, it's not for everyone, just thought I would see if anyone already had it. Would be nice to have some fellow Aspies on there to stir things up.

I prefer Second Life, even if it's a hive of scum. The character customisation tools are pretty good but you need money if you want to buy clothes etc for you avatar. You need good specs on your computer too.

Actually you can get clothes and skins for free if you look, there are lots of Lucky boards and chairs, also midnight madness boards.

I have lots of group gift skins myself, along with my bursting folder full of bought ones. Most skin groups cost L$250 to join nowadays though, but it's totally worth it. I avoid freebie clothes when I can, except if the quality is exceptional.
