I Hate Peer And People Pressure

I hate it when people try to pressure me into stuff that I don't really care much for doing, even though it won;t hurt to do it. When my brothers' friends ask me what college I'm going to, I tell them. None of these people have been to a University (didnt get good enough grades), all my brothers' friends are older than me since my brothers are older. They start saying stuff like "Oh you gonna get some girls in your dorm?". I once told my brother's friend that I may study abroad in Spain and he goes "Oh to f**k some Spaniard hoes".

I will be a freshman and I am starting summer classes in the beginning of July, I have my own dorm for accommodations so there is one way to keep that pressure off. I don't want to be pressured into doing drugs or talking to girls, or bringing girls into the room. I'm done with that, but it's always easy to say you're done with something when you're not experiencing it, so I'm afraid that well-meaning people may try to pressure me into some things; when all I really wanna do is just stay in my room and do my own thing. I don't wanna be bothered with girls or any of that other foolishness.

Any advice on how to avoid this stuff?

I've been dealing with crap like that, my entire life. I've put my foot down, in 1994, and again in the September of 2009, and said to myself, that enough was enough.

I have simply decided to disregard it. Pressure from my peers when I was in school, I simply paid no attention. Pressure from my parents is much more difficult, but as I said, I have decided to disregard it. I simply just pay no attention.

The more you conform to their expectations, the more you become one of them. Now if only someone had told me that when I was younger...

Leave them to their thing and do your own. Don't stoop down to the standards of those underachieving womanizers, you're a lot better than that.
