I started to do this as well, as I do not drive or have any social contacts. I thought I found someone to take me places but they were to random, it is difficult to "bond" with another person.
I still go out once or up to three times a month when I made my determination. Also I hope to do a computer recylcing non-profit and that will be more interaction with my interests. I do not believe it will come to be fore sure as it requires external funding, the idea is to refirb PC's for the low income disabled and students.
I think there needs to be more social groups locality based for those with A.S.D's. Some people live in other countries on here obviously so likely it is only logical that I mention the U.K and the U.S. Yet for the U.S perhaps with the local chapters for Autism Society of America can arrange for this, maybe they already have.
This would be for young adults and a seperate groups for adults, for instance 18 or 20+ wheras the younger adults would be a teen group.
I mention the Autism Society of America as it seems to be the most wide-spread locality based organization for autism issues.
I've never been to a local chapter though, sitting inside all the time though prefered for solidarity reasons still is not recomended by myself.
Making new friends is not an easy thing, usually other people have to be really interested in myself to develope a friendship.
