Don't you hate it when people point out your faux-pas?

One thing that really annoys me about people is that they feel the need to point out any social faux-pas that I often make, in a way that isn't particularly helpful but makes me feel bad about my mistakes. For example, whenever I am indecisive about something, I tend to say one thing and then another thing that might contradict it. My cousin has often pointed this out, as well as the fact that my short term memory isn't great (e.g. I could remember pi to 100 decimal places but I might not remember something that someone said half an hour ago). Himself and other people have often tried to victimise me by pointing out such mistakes that I currently make, as well as previous mistakes, despite the fact that they're not exactly in a position of authority to do so nor are they trying to do it in a way that helps me and prevents me from making the same mistake again. Even friends have done this at times, although I try taking reassurance in the fact that because I have Asperger's Syndrome that allows for the occasional social faux-pas.

Do you get annoyed when people point out your mistakes when they're not exactly perfect? Also, why do they feel it is appropriate when they're not trying to help?

I put my finger up my nose and twist
when peple do this to me when I did
not request any input or I just
burp really loud.

I flip my middle finger at them and reply, "Oh, and I suppose you walk on water?" or "Oh that's right. I forgot you walk on water."

Sometimes. Other times though I don't actually bother as I don't actually care too much about what other people (outside of my own family) think.
