Hi. So I go to taco bell pretty often. There's a guy who's been working there late night and I only ever go in at late night anymore so I've seen him a couple times. He is extremely friendly with me and I really don't understand. I don't shave and wear my hoodie like always and that drives most people away from attempting a conversation with me. Not this guy though. Tonight he asked me quite a few questions. He offered to teach me to drive when I said I did not know how to drive. He also gave me a free drink.

I'm not sure if I should be suspicious or not. I really don't understand why he's doing this. The only reason I can come up with is he knows I'm different and maybe someone in his family is like me so he's going out of his way to be very nice. I want to ask him why he is nice to me but that's very hard for me to do. Should I? I'm sure I'll see him again soon.

I'm so confused by this situation....

yeah, I'm confused too. Are either of you gay...is this a possible romantic situation?

He gets paid to be nice to you. I don't know his motivation for being extra nice.

Keep being his customer...don't answer questions that make you feel uncomfortable. Be his friend at Taco Bell for a while before you meet up with him outside the store.

Clerks are paid to be friendly, but offering you driving lessons and a free drink is beyond that. I agree that there is a high probability that he is gay and thinks that you are the same.

Aspies don't make good eye contact. Chances are, there was a hot chick at the counter one day and you didn't make eye contact with her and he was watching you. That is how "GayDar" works and aspies have a tendency to jam it.

Personally, I like having new friends and don't care what their sexual orientations are. Maybe ask him when he has a break or gets off and see if he wants to chat at your table. I would tell him up front that you are not gay if you aren't. Maybe he would still be interested in being friends.

I have several friends who are gay. Very nice guys. They know I'm not gay and they are still nice. And yes, there are times when I have wished I was gay.
