I talk about about obsessions and fears and how they affected my interaction with people.

My obsessions helped me learn who I could really trust.

My obsessions have taught me to seek out people, who accept individaual differeces, and to accept those, who different. Too bad my mum can't do that, for herself.

I personally have an obsession about truth and intelligent conversations.

However I seem to frequently fail on being intelligence in accordance to my own expectations.

However, when dealing with obsessions.
I am biased to continue with your obsession. I do not want society to deny you the right to be yourself!

I even plan, in part to use my obsessions to filter people from this society by their personality, since I suspect that the majority of the people in society will disappoint me.

So I guess, keep at it. :)

I agree with you somewhat, when my parents would tell me not to talk about fans, I didn't know what else to talk about. That was all that existed in my mind.
