Hi guys--
Not sure if i posted this in the right section, but err I'm bit of a newbie here so bear with me while i try to get a hang of this...
Just wondering if there are any sydneysiders around these parts? I allegedly have AS, have been hanging around the online AS community for a while but not on here until about 45 seconds ago and current involuntary obsession has been for the longest time worrying that my dx might not be correct (oh the irony..). Have been looking for any AS group located in Sydney... I've never actually met another RL aspie before and Ive been thinking perhaps actually crashing on a meeting and actually meeting other aspies might give me a clue to how similiar of different i am to aspies as a whole...

Hey there,

Check out this website: http://www.aspect.org.au -- it's the website for Autism Spectrum Australia, but it's based in NSW and seems to be a very NSW-centric organisation.

http://www.aspect.org.au/our%20services/socialclub.asp

There is a social club for adults with AS and similar conditions which meets fortnightly in Sydney.

Hmm, looking at the PDF file linked from the above URL, it seems that there's a meeting today or tonight, in Burwood, with a guest speaker. Might be best to give the club mentor a call!

Heh, I grew up in Sydney, but I moved to Brisbane two years ago. The AS community seems a lot more vibrant up here, even though Brizzy is less than half the size of Sydney. :)

Good luck!

I assume you mean Sydney, as in Australia?

Don't worry about a dx. It doesn't make a difference. Really! Although I know you'll keep wondering anyway...

Thanks-- I've been on that site before and did ask around, but never saw the link you provided me! Anyway missed tonight's meeting, having logged on here to check for replies half an hour before the meeting started!
