There is this girl in my french class which I have been spending a lot of time in school with lately. She talks a lot, so I just have to nod and figure out when to smile at the right time. No big problem.

The thing is, however, that some days...I just don't feel like being with anyone and just wander off to some quiet room and try to avoid her. I know I shouldn't, but some days are just like that. And I think she's gotten tired of it and is hanging out with other people now. I don't want to lose her, but it's so hard and exhausting to have friends and socialize. Mostly, I just feel like being alone.

I guess this is a major reason to why I lose friends so quickly, but...

Any tips? Anyone who's experienced something similar?

I'm the same way. I like having friends, but it's exhausting, so I often go days or sometimes even weeks without speaking to them because I just don't feel like socializing. I feel bad about it, but I can't force myself to be in the mood to socialize. My desire to socialize comes sporadically, because I'm quite happy being alone.

I can understand that. Sometimes I want to be alone, but I don't like to push people away. That makes me feel bad.

Explain to her that there are some days when you prefer to just be alone and relax. I'm the same as you and some days I spend my free periods, break, and lunch at college in the SEN room to shut myself off from everyone.
