^^Yaye greetings everyone.

I am very sorry to bother you all. I believe that I very much enjoy playing Squash and believe this would be lovely to join the magical Squash Club at University. However I believe that I am very frightened. I have visited the happy website of the club and believe there exists many members and believe there shall be large amounts of talking noise at the club sessions.

I believe I would be blessed with great anxiety within this situation.

Also, I visited the website and I could not find a large information concerning the structure of the sessions. I believe the happy website very much states just to come to the sessions. I am very scared to send a message to one of the committee members as I am very worried that I may upset them by asking a question concerning the structure of the sessions.

^^I would be very grateful indeed for any advice. I wish not to bother anyone however.

Okay, alright, maybe something like 'I'm pretty busy this semester. I'd like to come and get in a quick game at the beginning, but I don't want to mess up any tournament structure.'

And perhaps other people can recommend other things. Just keep it brief and matter-of-fact.

Now, the officer of the club whose duty it is to respond to emails might be busy. So there might be a slow response. And that's okay.

So, fall back position. Just show up at the start, but in your regular clothes. And pretty much say the same thing. 'Hi,'
'Yes, I like squash.' 'I'd like to get in a quick game from time to time.' 'I don't really have the time for any kind of tournament.'

That is, you are keeping your participation short at first. If later that it works out good, you can increase your involvement in ways and amounts of your own choosing.

There's good anxious and bad anxious. If your desire to join the Squash club outweighs your anxiety, that's good anxiety and probably just anticipation nerves. How can you tell if it does? You've got to go with your gut instinct. If you're inclined, just attend one of the sessions and consider it a "free sample" or an "experiment" before you decide whether or not to commit.

And don't be afraid to email them about the structure...if they have -any- sense of professionalism at all, they'll happily answer and even ANTICIPATE those kinds of questions. We NTs ask stuff like that too, ya know.

^^ Yaye thankee very much indeed for your advice chainsawswinger.

I believe that I have indeed attempt to send an E-Mail message to a happy man within the committee, however I believe the poor message became lost as this E-Mail address did not exist.

^^ I believe that I shall certainly attend the happy little friend today and believe this shall be very fun. Also, I believe the cost is only of £10 and thus I need not attend many other sessions if demons are present.

^^ I believe that I am very excited as I awoke Sally (my little Squash racquet) from her slumber yesterday. I do hope that I did not disturb her.

I hope your Squash goes well Tomashu, don't worry (hard as that may be), at uni the serious clubs accept what they may see as eccentricity, most university environments are very accepting of people so you should be ok being yourself ^^
