. . . the happy website very much states just to come to the sessions. I am very scared to send a message to one of the committee members as I am very worried that I may upset them by asking a question concerning the structure of the sessions.
^^I would be very grateful indeed for any advice. I wish not to bother anyone however.
Okay, alright, maybe something like 'I'm pretty busy this semester. I'd like to come and get in a quick game at the beginning, but I don't want to mess up any tournament structure.'
And perhaps other people can recommend other things. Just keep it brief and matter-of-fact.
Now, the officer of the club whose duty it is to respond to emails might be busy. So there might be a slow response. And that's okay.
So, fall back position. Just show up at the start, but in your regular clothes. And pretty much say the same thing. 'Hi,'
'Yes, I like squash.' 'I'd like to get in a quick game from time to time.' 'I don't really have the time for any kind of tournament.'
That is, you are keeping your participation short at first. If later that it works out good, you can increase your involvement in ways and amounts of your own choosing.
