I've heard of "on and off" friendships, but this particular one seems like it's just gone.

I used to game with this group every week, for two and a half years (table top gaming). We had to call it off because work was just too much for the guy who ran the game. We all went our separate ways. A semester passed, and summer came, and I texted him 4 times during the summer and he never got back, even when I asked him to at least respond to let me know if it was still his number. I sent him a myspace message, which he didn't read, and he took off his display feature that lets me know when he last logged in (I suspect he did that so I couldn't know he'd been on.) It's been almost a year.

It's so mysterious when people just disappear. You wonder if they're actually busy, or just value you so little they don't care if they do irreparable damage to things by ignoring you.

^ this.

It sucks I know. It's not your fault that this guy just dumped you, figuratively speaking. There are people out there who give much more of a crud about you than you realize.

I have an NT friend who had this happen to him. He was involved with a lady he knew from El Salvador which is also where he came from. He had been talking with her since June, then out of the blue, she just started ignoring his messages and calls. He is devastated because she just dropped him without explaining anything. My friend lives here in Alberta and is a permanent resident..he is just waiting for when he can write his citizenship test so he can become a Canadian citizen.

I'm sorry for your friend's loss. The mysteriousness of it all can make it that much worse.
