Hi, I would just like to ask a question. Im 18 year old, about last year my mother thought i should see a pychologist, and i was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. I feel like i may have Aspergers however , for several different reasons. is it possible i have asperger's but not yet diagnosed? I ve always had a severe issue with change ever since i could remember so much that it interferes with my life. when i was youunger id go into crying fits if my hair style was changed from my usual. and i still refuse to change my hairstyle is one example. i thought i would grow out of these but i havent. I do things repeatedly , in routine, and i can never understand why . i think Aspergers is the only explanation i could find. its frustrating i dont know how to bring this up to anyone.:( There are so many other thing about myself i relate to asperger's. most of them have disabled me to function like most normal people. i am alone and i cant relate to anyone. has anyone felt this way.? thank you for reading

Aspergers can be difficult to ID or diagnose. I'd say if you can print off some info on it and leave it somewhere your parent(s) would find it might be helpful and then you can talk about it with them later once they have a little info on it. If you see a doc/therapist or whatever bring it up with them.

The best way to start a discussion was "Hey I came across information on this thing called Aspergers and it really sounded a lot like me." You can then go on to give the person info on it (if its not the psychologist of course, although not all psych's are closely familiar with it).

Its hard to bring up stuff like this, but you should since it could really help you get assistance for school and/or college depending on your plans.

I was diagnosed with Aspergers at the tender young age of seven, and all throughout my life I've had these symptoms, if not symptoms similar to these. I'd say you're one of us mate. :)
