Have therapists teachers or counselors ever tried to scare you about "the real world"?

Here is my new blog from wordpress.com. It talks about how counselors and teachers would try to scare and taunt me about the real world, instead of motivate and engage.

My Dad told me all sorts of horror stories about the real world. It turns out its not so bad when you don't complain all day long :!:

I was lucky with my teachers. They tried to teach real life skills as well as their subject matter. Also, they tried to give time to their students.

My peers weren't nice though (mostly the girls and guys not in my classes, the guys in my class were nice though).

I was not lucky with my teachers, I was only taught things like math because they were going to be on a test. I went to a full day technical and academic high school during my junior and senior year, and they showed me how math applies to the real world.
