My father's family does gift exchanges for Christmas, or used to. It always stressed me out as a child, because they didn't know me very well and would invariably give me something I found stupid. Based on this experience, my advice is to remember that, no matter what it is, you should express a liking for your gift. Or to laugh if it's meant to be funny.
