Hi there,

I am NT and have a good friend who's aspie. A few weeks ago we saw a sand picture similar to these (http://www.exoticsands.com/default.aspx) at a local market. He really liked it! They were really expensive though! Anyways, I wanted to get him one and found some cheaper ones the internet. However, the sand was flowing faster, plus they had some glittering sand in them, and I didn't think they were as nice (because of the fast flowing sand it wasn't so calming to look at). So, now I'm wondering if there is something similar I could give him or if you have any other ideas?! He's a phycisist btw.

Thanks for any ideas, highly appreciated!

It depends on his obsession. Sea Shells are pretty cool, my grandmother used to collect 'Sand Glass' along the New York shoreline and send it to me.

Something that's related to their special interests.

Get them something that they would probably like. :P Not really any different than shopping for a "neurotypical" person.

The special interest is a very important item to remember.

I did find a nice sand picture and will stick with it. He was amazed by it. Thanks again for all your replies!
