Is that a polite way of saying "no"? Like for example, whenever I talk to someone about some random TV show. movie, book, or a Youtube video, most of the time, they'll say, "I'll look at it later", which I know some people hardly do.

It doesn't always mean no. Sometimes, they can't look at it that very moment. Sometimes, it might mean no, or they may just forget, or it may mean they haven't been given a good enough reason to be interested in it.

For me, it means that I will look at it later, but in all truth, no matter how interesting it seems, I'm probably going to forget.

I think it means they'll Google it later if they remember. Just because they look at something doesn't mean they're going to read/watch it.

I expect that it means 'I will not look at it right at this moment, however I will if the opportunity presents itself at a later date'.

Usually I end up saying that if whatever the person is trying to show me does not directly have anything to do with my specific narrow interest. If it does, I end up not forgetting and making time for it somehow. While it's not saying "no", it's really a means of postponing it until later, and later does not always come as everyone gets caught up in their own lives sometimes.

I concur.

That's a roundabout way of them saying that they're not interested in looking at it.
