As a parent, you can help your child build friendships with others. I have always arranged playdates for my son so he can practice his social skills and build relationships. I did this initally with my friends' children. I included cousins and my son's brother. I then asked parents at his school if we can have a playdate. This helped my son to build friendships.

Good advice! I think a lot of parents who have kids with Aspergers could learn from this. Did your children come to have a lot of friends as a result of this practice?

I may not be a parent (yet), but I feel like I can socialize to a degree when I feel like it. Having playdates with foreign friends also helps. There is already a very similar concept like this in the dating realm.

I'm talking about cross-cultural dating/marriage (yes, I kind of paraphrased a title of a thread in the "Love & Dating" section of the forum).

Of course! Like mail-order brides and women who want to get a VISA through... right? ^-^
