Anybody find seduction literature nauseating to read?

You know what I'm talking about: pickup artists, mystery method, etc.

I find it nauseating for a number of reasons:
- superiority complex: you notice alot of these damn authors have a major superiority complex? like they're better than "AFCs".

- female objectification: they treat women totally as objects. i believe in treating others with respect.
these very same dudes don't like it when women manipulate them.

- highly negative: they paint women in general as this highly manipulative and conniving species that you must outwit

- heavily manipulative: David DeAngelo comes to mind. If you read his tricks (ie: keeping her off balance, giving her mixed responses, deliberately toying with her, etc) and mystery's Neg Hit. I had someone at work perpetrate all this against me (non-sexually though). Once I found out, I felt stupid, manipulated, dumb, etc.

- boyfriend busting: alot of these folks have a cavalier attitude about seducing women already in relationships. If you read "The Game", these very same idiots forget their justifications once somebody intrudes on THEIR woman.

- questionable motives: these guys market their stuff in the name of "helping nice guys" and "making you the man you're meant to be". However take a good look at their marketing crap. Look how much they play on male insecurities, exaggerate, lie even. Look how expensive their books and seminars are. If they really wanted to help guys, why charge $1000+?

I get it, it's a box of tools. Take what you like, leave the rest. PUA can be used to help you become confident and attractive yet they can also be used to to manipulate people.

The sad thing is that PUA actually is right about most things....you have to be a cocky, extroverted douchebag to attract women.

I have a beautiful, smart girlfriend who is attracted to me and I am introverted and whatever the opposite of cocky is.

Pick up artists are scum preying on women by exploiting the insecurities of men who hate women.

How did you get her as a gf?

She asked me out.

-If you're only interested in men who 'take advantage of you' is it taking advantage or do women who are attracted to bizarrely super-confident men with few virtues simply have a fetish going on?
-Some women have rape fantasies, or daddy issues. There not my thing, and I'd avoid them, but they exist.
-So in other words, the girls who are doing PUA are the women who were going to do PUA anyway. And since I'm not a PUA acting like one wouldn't work, because it would be a terrible imitation.
-I actually think 90% of social interaction is people trying to explain a cause and effect relationship where it doesn't exist. In reality fundamental perversity and lack of self interest explain most human social behavior.

Girls do a lot of manipulation themselves ... even more than guys.

So it's fair game.

Yes, it's all pretty disgusting.

If you're a self confident guy who really respects women and treats them like people, I find that takes you a long way.

You don't need to use any tricks, or read endless PUA manuals written by slimeballs.

The sad thing is that a lot of people believe things like this.

I'm afraid that's what NT women like before they fancy someone. this world would be so great if it wasn't for NT women. Even when a man does something bad, you can bet there's an NT woman behind it.

So you deny free will? I can't do something bad and be a man, without a woman being involved? What about booze? I head butt that bouncer for looking at me funny, not because a girl asked me to.

The very fact that we need bouncers and alcohol is the fault of NT women.

Then how come I've never had a gf? Also, almost every guy I know (or know of) who hasn't ever been in a relationship has the same traits-shy, nerdy, socially awkward. Yeah sure some guys like this might get a gf, but it's the exception and not the rule.

you might need those things to just have a casual fling, but not a relationship.

Maybe I need to go to the UK and see for myself if the women there are different.

I've lost all my damn patience with American women.

they used to be good hearted and loving, but your shows (sex and the city etc) came over here and ruined them too.
