So I'm thinking that I need something to do. I get home from work around 6:00pm and pretty much just spend the time from when I get home until I go to bed (around midnight) just watching TV. Granted, I like TV, I love the stories and I am definitely interested, but I want to do more. The problem is, I can't think of anything to do. I don't have any friends so just going out and hanging out at a bar with friends or something isn't an option. Anything I do would be by myself. I just can't think of anything.

You can learn sign language online. It's great fun.

Well, learning a sign language online is much more difficult than learning an oral language online. :P

You could:
- learn a language (or more than one)
- play video games
- learn a musical instrument

That's what I do for fun.

I've been learning about web development lately, it's great fun with the recent advances in browsers.

There are a huge number of hobbies to choose from. I like to start with things that I've always wished I could do (speak another language, write novels, etc.).

I guess I need to be more specific. I'm trying to think of things to do away from home. I want to go somewhere and so something, but I can never thing of anyplace to go or anything to do. Something away from that might have the possibility of meeting people.

Get a digital camera and practice photography. You can photograph things almost anywhere, so you will have a variety of places to go and meet people.

Join a book club that meets at a library or book store.

learn to snowboard. or in the summer, go skim-boarding or mountainboarding. see if there's an AS group you could be a part of in your area!

Stuff like that really isn't an option for me as it is very expensive and is something I wouldn't want to do by myself. I'm more trying to think of things I can do to kill an evening during the week. Something I can get out of the house for an hour or so for.
