To anyone who might be interested, there is an Aspie Women's Club in Tacoma that just started in September. They meet on Tuesdays at 7pm. If anyone is interested in attending, you could contact Aura at [email protected]. The group also welcomes non-aspies to come. Here is a flyer if you would like more information:

I'm sorry there aren't many clubs/support groups in your area :( I'm not from Mason County, but I know what it feels like to be stranded from other groups, as I lived out in the Yelm-area for much of my life until I moved to the Tacoma-area. You could always start one in your area. I'll bet you aren't the only one who feels the same way (aspies are EVERYWHERE! lol). It might take a bit to get one started (as in trying to get people interested, getting people to know about the club, getting people to keep coming, etc.) I've never really been part of an aspie club before, but from what I've heard they could be a real success if it's done right. Good luck, and I hope you find something!

thank you aspiegirl :) i do belong to the olympia area square pegs aspie meetup group, but it is over an hour's drive from my hermithole in the middle of the woods out in mason. i am willing and able [so far, god-willing] to drive that far because it is just once per month, and i finally get to be around people like myself.

That sounds interesting...square pegs! lol I sometimes feel like that in the neurotypical realm haha. I'd say an hour's drive is well worth it if you get to spend time with people like yourself. I'd rather drive that far than go crazy being alone in the Neurotypical Forest lol. I remember when I was a kid there weren't really a lot of groups out there, and now there are a lot more. I mean, there were groups for parents, but there weren't groups specifically for people with Asperger's. When I looked up WrongPlanet it was then, to my 16-year-old self, the best thing in the world, next to pickled herring of course :)

That's true; I'm still trying to find a group around that I could go to that I'd be able to go to for at least awhile. It's pretty sweet that there are at least a few to choose from. Hopefully I could find one that suits me :)
