Looking at other peoples status updates rather silly and pictures of new born babies, that 1976 holden kingswood picked up for a couple of hundread! or old class mates happy partying or whatever pointless status updates, "oh i had Chips for dinner yum" Facebook merely reminds me how different and isolated from my "Freinds" I am Although I talk to a handful of people but still Wish I was something better :-(

Interesting. Facebook has helped me connect better to people.

You think they're better than you for doing silly nonsensical things? That doesn't seem too rational. Maybe you should rethink how you compare yourself to others.

When I look at facebook, I become happy because unlike them, I don't feel compelled to have to get married or have to dress/act a certain way, or have to go to that club. One of the greatest things about having AS is not possessing that mindless peer pressure mechanism. I used to fake it, but I was miserable and I got tired of that. I even used to wear jeans, and I hate wearing jeans for sensory issues. Now I just bask in my freedom from those social conventions. I figure as long as I'm nice to people, that's all I need. When I look at facebook, I'm reminded how far I come. At my lowest point, I was busting my brains trying to look and act like them, but now I'm much happier.

It is depressing sometimes, but I've managed to not be bothered about it. That and I hardly use it anymore. Let's take a look and see what most of the things on the news feed are...

First up is a photo, then there's another 4 photos, then a pointless motivational message, then a picture of a dog...Ok, I think I've had enough looking there!

OP, you wish you was something "better"? Being active on facebook isn't being "better", I don't think.
