Happy about a best friend

Last night, my girlfriend told me that I am her best friend. I was so happy that I almost cried. For one thing, no one has felt that way about me since second grade, which was about 20 years ago. For another thing, she is my best friend too.

I wanted to share this with people who might understand how meaningful this was for me.

Oops, I forgot! I had a best friend who considered me to be her best friend during the end of my junior year in high school and the beginning of my senior year.

But, the sentiment is the same: I have a mutual best friend, which I haven't had for more than 10 years!

i don't have multiple friends so the concept of a 'best' one is kind of void.

I have few friends, too. The people who I have considered my best friends care a lot about me, but I am not their best friend back. It just feels really special to have a mutual best friendship.
