Earlier this evening, I had planning going to a special dinner for people with Asperger's Syndrome with a guest speaker. However, the communication was sent by way of an e-mail chat list with very little to no communication as to what time we were meeting or the location. One of the leaders happened to mention going to a Chinese Restaurant and I happened to take it literally that we were set to eat there and so I planned on it.

I had also attempted to contact these people and ask them what time and where the location was and even left them my phone number since this would have been my first meeting. However, no one bothered to write or call me with the full details so I ended up assuming that that plans were at the Chinese restaurant. When arriving, however, no one showed up while I did not have any cell phone numbers on me so I could not reach them. So I ended up stuck waiting at or near the restaurant in case I was right. However, no one did.

Finally, I knew that they did not cancel because I noticed a friend's status on a local chatroom showing that they were at the dinner and so they must have met somewhere else.

In response, I had sent three emails to all three of the organizers mentioning my situation and issues that I was having due to the communication and planning skills which were lacked.
(This support group is run by people with Asperger's Syndrome and as we know communication is a deficit but it is also run by a person who is an NT with two children with Autism).

Has anyone else dealt with scenarios like this and how have you handled them?
