I'm annoying and clingy, but since I don't have any love interests (at the moment anyway), it's towards friends and family whom I feel particularly attached to.

I can be really clingy one day and then completely detached the next... Hmmm I wish I were a happy medium.

If I don't keep an eye on you, I'll get hopelessly lost and never find my way home!
And you'll miss me later! Right? You will miss me, won't you?

Just don't touch me.

I'm 46 and I still feel like this. Not so much as I did in my 20's and 30's but if a friend and I are driving separate cars to get to the same place, I get really anxious if I lose sight of his car. Even when I know exactly where I'm going.

I'm like that most of the time but I have some "medium" days as well.
Whether I'm clingy or detached depends mostly on how insecure or exhausted I feel.

It is weird because I feel like I have to put an effort into not being too clingy and not too distant. It's a constant balance scale that I have to put thought into not to tip it on either side. Frustrating may it be, but I think I am getting the hang of it somewhat.....online anyways....idk bout irl.

Hmm I'd have to be told in order to know unfortunately. Hope not, but could be. Guess it depends on the other person's definition of clingy as well.

When I used to be semi-mute (meaning really really shy and quiet) for a few years, It annoyed people. But then when i finally was able to speak up, it stilled annoyed a few people, because i talk in a monotonous voice.

I cant seem to win at all.

This describes me perfectly. One day I am annoying (at least I think I can be) and very clingy, and like you said, the next day I am detached and distant with the world. Though, I still have a feeling of isolation in both types of moods.

I can't tell if I am clingy or aloof. Sometimes I worry that I am too clingy when I'm probably not. Then I back off and probably appear aloof, but I fear overstepping boundaries more than being aloof so I will err on the side of aloof.
