So I met this guy at my school, who everyone considers a genius. He's in eighth grade, but takes some ninth grade courses (he and I are in the same US History class). He is very quirky, for lack of a better word. My question is how is he socially accepted at school while I'm viewed as odd? Hell, he even made up some weird cult surrounding a rock for the hell of it (when I heard this, I laughed).

Also, once I was hanging out with he and his friends and they were all being immature. They were at the point of saying "Your mom" to everything, even this new friend, who isn't like this when we're alone. I like hanging out with him alone, but he rarely ever is. How do I deal with this?

Get the dude in a situation where he would be alone. Maybe meet up with him somewhere.

(Heh, kind of sounds like a date when you look at it in a certain way. ;))

They key is to play it chill man. Like "Hey wanna come over and play NHL or something later?"

"Yeah sure man, I'll give you a call what's your number?"

"Yeah, k cool, later."

Sometimes I'm not sure what to do when I'm alone with him because I sometimes don't know what to talk about?
