I think I had about 16, 17 people around on christmas eve. I was sitting with my grandfather and auntie before my mother's friends came in, and talking to them was difficult. One of my mother's friend has a son who was battling leukemia and I guess still is, and I didn't know how to break the ice. Was kind of awkward. Then more people came in, then the last wave of human beings were due 10 minutes later, so I had to start cooking. Once I was finished, they arrived, then my socializing resigned after I filled my plate and sat in a corner drinking cheap beer, waiting for everyone to finish eating and leave....

But yeah. I thought I'd be generous and ask if anyone else is enjoying their awkward christmas eve. Is anyone else enjoying their awkward christmas eve?

Wow I don't envy you. Christmas isn't a major event in my household so we won't have anyone round tonight. Tomorrow on the day there'll only be a few of us. So this year will be very quiet.
Will be the complete opposite to New Year though. haha

My husband and I went out Christmas shopping for one last time. Then we came home and I rested for a bit and then played a new game on Wii I downloaded. Then my husband had our son open his Christmas present from my dad and he didn't seem interested in the thing he got. Hopefully he will enjoy it when he is older. The age group said ages 4 plus anyway.

I couldn't even go to the family gathering the rest of my family was having on Christmas eve. There's too much people, loud children, too much noise, too cold and it's too far away considering that I'd have to be able to drive back to my home somehow despite probably having a meltdown on the way after an overwhelming evening.

So I stayed home. There was only me and my husband, who happens to not care about Christmas, so he didn't even attempt to make it nice. The nice meat we were planning to have for dinner turned out to be spoiled when we opened the package and ended up in the garbage, so our dinner was just a casual chicken. Hubby had barely finished his food when he wanted to open up the gifts quickly to get it over with. Then he just went to his room and spent most of the evening on his computer and then we watched one movie together. So Christmas lasted for about half an hour. Pretty boring and disappointing.
