If my friend is making too many excuses, is our friendship souring?
about three weeks ago my friend texts me that he wants to see a movie, a couple hrs before we supposed to meet he bails and says that he is sick, then a week later I ask him if wants to get lunch, he says ok and then he cancels on me, now this week we were supposed to do lunch for real and he was was like oops my brother is visiting "I can't eat LUNCH with you for an hour" the in quotes was what I was thinking along with what he said, seriously why can't he flipping make it to this appointment he already missed me 2 other times , I am super pissed and I'm kind of worried about our friendship.

I easily feel defeated in social situations so maybe mine isn't the best advice, but... I would assume that he no longer wants to be friends. Standing you up once is no problem, twice can be forgiven for a friend, but three times is definitely a pattern. If it were me I would cease to contact him and just leave the ball in his court. I do get lonely when I have no friends but I'm never so desperate for friends that I'd put up with that sort of treatment.

Do not do what Invis is suggesting. You need to confront him about this and ask what is up; then with the answer given make a decision from there to end the friendship. Don't just leave.
