Today, I was supposed to go to a practice for PowderPuff football but there was only a few freshmen there and they're all in basketball. I'm sorta friends (acquaintances) with one of them but I just felt left out and awkward because I didn't know what to say and I didn't laugh at any of their stories.

Is this just an Aspie/Autie thing or does this happen to NTs as well?

Everyone has traits considered Aspie to some degree or another — whether or not you're classified as such depends on the degree and the amount.

So yeah, there are plenty of NTs who are socially awkward (if not all the time then at least some of the time). Being NT doesn't make you socially infallible. ;)

It happens to AS/A and NT. If you don't know anyone particularly well and you aren't enjoying the activity or their humour I can see why you felt a bit awkward. I wouldn't worry about it though as it does happen to everyone.
