I am really , really mad at my dentist. What should I do...

I am mad at my dentist and basically want to squash him.... Since the office is closed I'm sitting at the computer wondering if I should file a Hippa (health privacy act) violation complaint on line, or fax an angry e-mail etc.


I am mad at their arogant sexist and denial of my human equality. My insurance is in my name yet they sent the bill to my husband as garantor. It was not even overdue. just a routine bill. This (as I am in the healthcare business) is a clear violation of Hippa (which has some fun pennalties like fines etc). In a melt down I want to take harsh action really quickly. I could do this by filing a complaint online

At minimum I want a full appology and assurance they will not do this again to either me or anyone else.

So here is a poll:

1) Do I give them a hippa complaint for christmas (enclose copy with my check)
2) Do I call them up on Monday and explain that in addition to insulting me personally, they have violated fedral law? demand an appology and remediation (like fix their billing)
3) Have my husband or attorney call them and explain that they did something insulting and illegal. Either one will sound far calmer than I can.
4) Settle for an apology and correction of the billing for me (forget anyone else simillarly insulted)

Other ideas

I opt for #1, 2 *AND* 3, and make damn well sure they get fined. Actually, if possible sue the pants off them!

If there's anything that can actually be called decadence, this is a prime example. Whatever happens, DO NOT settle for 'Sorry, Doormat.' I swear it's people like this that prepetuate wage-differentials on gender lines.

PS: If your dentist calls you a commie in a demeaning way, you have every right to break his face and put him in the emergency room. Otherwise, you may want to avoid physical revenge. ^_~
