Does anybody here find it easier to talk to strangers than people you know.

I find it difficult to start and carry on a conversation with a person I have only met once or twice before.

For example, I had very little problem with talking to strangers I met either in a bar or train etc when I was travelling across the united states alone. However, I find it more difficult to keep a conversation with people who i know a bit more, including those who i would classify as my friends.

The main reason I think is because my conversation, or at least the first 5-10minutes of it is pretty much identical to everybody i meet lol.

In my case, I find it about the same. Much of this is because I frequently don't know if the stranger is really a stranger or someone I've met before but just can't recognize.

I don´t have it exactly the same way, but I am, in a way, similar to you. I find it easier to talk to strangers because you know you are not going to meet them any time soon or even ever again. I tend to tell them everything that bothers me at the moment, which greatly distracts them, but it helps me to "release the steam". It´s not the brightest thing to do, though. And it also seems very clingy. But I stopped caring that much about it.
