So I have a friend who I haven't seen in over a year and he texted me yesterday asking if I'd like to hang out and I said sure and he said that he's free today and Wednesday. It's current almost 12:30pm and I haven't heard from him yet. Should I just wait for him to text or would it be weird if I asked him if we were hanging out today?

I think he might be waiting for you to choose. I would text him and say, "Let's hang out ____________." (fill in the blank with date and time)

This is where you take the initiative in deciding when you wish to hang out with your friend by giving a date, time and possibly an activity which can be from walking about or something to most obvious one going to pubs and clubs and since your 18, it'll all be on the police records that your eligible to drink. Just don't do anything drunk people do coz they funny... Do wha mate? and swear loads and do crazy stuff like having a pee on buildings... Don't do that, it stains.

If he last said that he was free today and wednesday, then it sounds to me as though the two of you are in a negotiation. he's offered today and wednesday as possibilities. At this point it's up to you to pick one, a time, and perhaps a place, and to suggest them to him. But don't be surprised if he's already made other plans for today and can no longer make it.

If he said he's free today and Wednesday, he is now waiting for you to reply with what time works best for you.

In other words; the ball is in your court.

I don't see what's wrong with calling if he wanted to hang out in the first place. Do whatever you feel comfortable doing whether it's texting or calling him.

Okay so I texted him and we're going to hang out Thursday.
