There has got to be something like Boy Scouts for adults... well I have the intrest in meeting other people, but there's nothing locally, and finding something to get involved with -- with people my own age isn't going too well. Even in my area. It seems that a lot of the people my age have their own social groups well established so there isn't much need for activites. There are limited activites at college, and what activites exist, nobody really cares, even me!

I don't mind getting involved with politics, but everyone else my age could care less. When I was in high school, I refused to get a class ring much to my parents dismay because... I didn't really assocate with people I went to school with. I was rather known, got along, and had a handful of friends, but I was the guy you just see in the halls, and you know him from somewhere, but you just don't know his name...

Around here, this is the closest thing I can think of to what you are talking about: http://www.austinssc.com/ I would consider joining if I was single and didn't have back problems.

Perhaps there is something similar in your neck of the woods.
