When I am with friends who don't have Aspergers, I feel so different from them. It makes me feel like the odd one out a lot of the time. I like being around them a lot yet it is still hard to be good at socializing with them. I haven't said anything about my diagnosis recently (mainly while finishing college) because I told myself that I would never tell anyone again (aside from those who know already) since I don't what they would do with me aside from still be my friends (depending on who I tell). That might change in the future, I don't know yet.

While I'm sure many people here can relate to this blanket statement in a general sense, tell us, JamieRose, in what ways specifically do you feel on the outs with your friends? What are some things that make you feel different from them?

It's hard to say at the moment. I'll get back to you.

I used to hang out with two of my best buddies in middle school.

I remember always wondering about how these two would be able to talk so much to each other and so fluently.
But whenever I tried to talk with them I had no idea what to say outside of my interest (gaming), it just wasn't happening.
Luckily back then I didn't care or notice it, but now I kinda feel sad about it since I'm in the same position :o

My best friend in an NT (though she has depression), and she always finds a way of not making me feel different: she's very nice to me, and, most important of all, she treates me like everyone else. About the other friends I've had, yes, I felt different when I was with them. I think this is the reason why our friendship didn't last.
