I feel like there is a human sense as well as our other sense that allows interact and connect to people but I just happen not to have it, I can push myself to get over shyness but without this sense it doesn't matter. I feel that I can never get someones elses perceptive without ever sitting down and analyzing it. I feel that a sense starts to emerge through music but not fully. Dose anyone else feel their lacking this sense?

That's empathy. It's the innate sense of connection to other people, a sensitivity to what they're thinking and feeling.

Yeah, I feel like I was born without it. I have created a decent patch job by studying and observing people, so I do understand them intellectually, but I'll never have that connection some people have.

Transmet, yeah. If you haven't read it yet, you're depriving yourself. It's truly great work.

No!
My experience is the opposite.......overwhelmed with
sensory activity.

With respect to empathy, most aspies I know are
super empathic, but extremely unskilled with respect
to communicating this to others.

I do think that I'm seriously missing a sense. I sometimes wonder if I was born without a soul because of something I read (can't find where I read it, darnit!) about how the soul helps us be connected to one another.

I always think of that line from "The Love Song of J, Alfred Prufrock": "I have heard the mermaids singing each to each. They do not sing to me." I'm going to change my signature.
