I'm adapting terminology from the asexuality community here.
According to one wiki, demisexual means

Quote:
a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form a strong emotional connection with someone.

By demisocial, I mean something similar: someone who doesn't desire friendships, but who becomes attached once someone manages to make friends with them. This is a description of my social style. I have no drive to socialise or have friends. I very, very, very seldom get lonely.
However, throughout my life, people have approached me and made the effort to get to know me, and some of them I've become friends with. Once that has happened, then I'd miss them if they left,

Is anyone else like this?

Yes, I am and it suits me very well. Because I rarely if ever get lonely I feel I'm getting the best of both worlds: I practically have no social interaction that's not significant to me in some way. No regular social bonding, no trivial information exchange (otherwise known as gossip), no trading favours and so on. In theory I'm missing on potential advantages but in practice I'm actually missing a lot of stress and hassle. And I get significant, interesting or meaningful interaction with those I want to. I'm in no danger or losing contact with society or humanity. And I'm very attached and loyal to my friends.

But I also come from a more introverted culture where one is not expected or pressured to socialise with complete strangers or pretend to be best friends with everybody and my behaviour is rarely being punished harshly.

The absolute opposite. Maybe it's like with a lot of things where aspies are at the extremes? Either hypersexual or asexual (or both, if you're me)? Hyper sensitive or hyper dull senses? Either completely hate people or obsessed with fitting in? Etc.

Are you demi in other areas too?

Demiromantic, as you would have seen in my other topic.

Not demisexual. I'm heterosexual, but my lack of social inclination means that I can't be bothered interacting enough to get a sexual partner.
