Full title... Netiquette: Why bloggers always ask for comments, then ignore mine?

I notice that some bloggers always include some variant of "Feel free to email me or leave a comment here. I love hearing from my readers! I want to forge closer connections with you all!"

Well, when I email them, my emails are always ignored. Anyway, all these bloggers share one thing in common. They all moderate their blogs' comments. I notice that they always receive the same few comments from the same few people. Whenever I leave comments, none of my comments is published. Once, a blogger emailed me something like, "Sorry, very sorry. I think that your most recent comment got stuck in my email account's spam folder. Thanks a lot for reading my blog!" but she never took any follow-up action such as publishing that comment.

Um, my point is... Why ask for comments in every blog post of yours, then ignore me when I give comments? Have you experienced anything similar?

That happens a lot right here on WP. Someone would create a post asking for help or advice. Sometimes I answer, sometimes other people answer, but the OP never returns to say they acknowledge the responses. It's like they went out there crying for help, their fellow WP'ers would get worried, but in the end it was all a joke. Very annoying. The boy who cried wolf, indeed.

Bloggers (spammy ones) have never been my favorite crowd sadly enough, they seem to share some traits with excessive, exhibitionist facebookers.

Sorry to generalize.

But I had bad experiences with a couple of them.

It's all for publicity. Most don't respond to anyone.

To redrobin62: Lucky me... I browsed through some of my most recent posts... I think I managed to reply to people's advice for me on Haven, although I must admit that when I was still a WP newbie, I sometimes ignored replies, thinking, "Since thank you is just a two-worded phrase, it doesn't really make a difference." Luckily I repented.
To Uprising: Yes, I suspect that some of those more high-profile bloggers might be suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but I would rather stay optimistic and believe that people are capable of changing for the better. One particularly high-profile blogger started off writing bitchy and narcissistic posts but gradually toned down as she aged.
To Zodai: I'm sorry, can you explain what "for publicity" means? Thank you.

I also agree that people can mild down once they get older, but then again I saw many older people still being huge pains, so I wonder how they were like in their younger years?

According to my dad the mean ones are mean because they've always been mean in their lifetime and could get away with being like that, so I dunno.

I would assume they ask for comments, and then they post the ones that they want to see.

I've had bloggers responding in a positive way to my comments and I'm horrible in everything communication related.

Depends who you pick to reply to.

In general, you could be right of course.
