Hello, Its been a few months since I have been here and after failure after failure of trying to meet people and make friends, Success!
I put out a Friendship ad on Craigslist and made a friend basically. So I don't know who invented Craigslist but they pretty much are a genius

Anyways, The dude is around my age and it was so weird because he sounds like we were made to be friends all along, He's moved passed drugs and alcohol as a means to pass the time, and doesn't party. I mean who in this age doesn't party?! totally my type of friend. I am completely allergic to partys, drama, and large crowds or people.

We are going hiking today at a park, and I just feel so right about this. He also lives on the same side of town as I do! I am going to be completely honest about my life. I'm not putting up a show, to act like I'm something I'm not. If while we have Friendtime today he doesn't want to be friends with me anymore, then I will keep trying. but I think its going to work out

I knew if I just trusted in the Tao my life would fall into place.
Sometimes, when It seems like your sh-t is falling apart, its really falling into place! :jester:

I'll be back later to tell you how much fun I had with my first friend in a long time. :o

I hope it works out for you. Even though he seems like a nice guy, make sure you stay in a public place since this is the first time you're meeting him. While there are plenty of great people on Craigslist there are also tons of scammers and criminals and just psychos as well. Be careful and let us know how it went.

Oh well thanks. Once in my life I would have been cautious about meeting people off of the internet, but then I figured what I was doing wasn't working. I refuse to live my life in fear, If some idiot is gonna rob me or pull out a gun then whatever, I guess I'd be more concerned if I lived in a metropolitian area. I live in a fairly small town so..

Nothing yet, however. He was suppose to Text me about a time to meet up for the hike. If I get stood up again, I'll take it like a man. It wont be the first or the last I'm sure. That's the problem with Craigslist A lot of the time I get stood up. Its a risk you take but then again, atleast I can say I tried, If it doesn't work this time I'm going to try a different approach. more of a face to face thing, like clubs, groups and whatnot.

Maybe he really got called in? I just can't see how someone would go through all that and then not meet up, unless they got scared or there really was work.

People you meet off the internet usually just completely disappear though without any message or explanation when they decide they don't want to meet up in RL. :?

True. and I understand fear, however fear isn't playing a major role in my life any longer. I just don't understand why you would go through all the trouble of this long ass dialog with someone, set it all up and then back out at the damn last minute. its really frustraiting to say the least. but its time to try something else

I wont go through this BS ever again,

Give the dude a second chance but be wary. My job is a 'call in/stay late' job so I have legit reasons to back out of social stuff. And if he asks for cash or for you to pay, call it off.
