I recently managed to expand my circle of friends through a girl I was seeing. The girl and I are no longer together but I ended up befriending the roommate that she was kicking out of her apartment.

I liked him (noticed he was a little "off" in an AS way) and started hanging with him and some of his friends. He and I started looking for apartments with one of the girls in this social circle. The three of us get along great. He has PDDNOS and she has ADHD. I think we'd be great roomates but I'm noticing just how much more stressful we end up making the apartment hunting process. We're all freaked out in our own way waiting to hear back. All my best friends tend to be Aspies (like myself), ADHD, bipolar, OCD so this seems like a great fit but I'm worried we might have the opposite of a calming effect on each other when the stress starts to mount. I'm not used to being the calm one but that's happening more and more. Any advice for keeping us all "relatively" sane while we go through the apartment hunting process?

If you all get on, it will find it's natural level once you find the right place.

Just make sure you get a place that you all like, rather than rush into one, just to ease the stress of house hunting.

Maybe all go hunting separately, spread your resources. When one finds a good spot then get the others to go for a second viewing.

I lived by an airport. I easily got used to that because the plane noise seems to slowly approach and slowly fade away.

At another place, I lived by a train track and street intersection. I never got used to that, because train whistles are sudden and unpredictable.

I very much agree with the above advice of having a couple of people looking at the potential place on a couple of different occasions, and then kind of feeling your way to a good decision.

That's some good advice. We're pretty much all keeping our eyes open. We're meeting up tonight and I'll do a tarot reading for us. Should help us put things into perspective.
