"Will you be going out much this semester?"

This morning a girl got real close to me and asked this question. I asked her what she meant like a duface two or three times but I still couldn't figure out what she was saying. What did she mean by "going out" in this context? I've always associated go and out being put together with dating, but it really doesn't make sense to put it in a question like that.

my guess is that she may be asking if you'll be travling much?

I go off campus almost on a weekly if not every other day or couple of days basis. mainy for the odd necessity.
